The Flame and O le Afi - These 2 books are a set with one being completely in English and the other is the same but completely in Samoan. They are a story about a fire on a farm and have beautiful handpainted illustrations by a local artist, Momoe von Reiche. Written, illustrated and published in (Western) Samoa.

PRATTS GRAMMAR & DICTIONARY OF THE SAMOAN LANGUAGE, 1977, written by Rev. George Pratt, Printed and Published by the Malua Printing Press, Apia, (Western) Samoa. Book measures 7-1/2" x 5" and is 1-1/2" thick.
Samoan to English AND English to Samoan word spelling, pronunciations and meaning. This has been one of the most important school classroom books in Samoa over the generations and is still in use today. It is the original Samoan dictionary with it's 1st Edition in 1862; 2nd in 1875, 3rd in 1892; 4th in 1911; then 2 reprints in 1960 and 1977. It has 3 sections. The first section is 131 pages and discusses Samoan Grammar, with some poetry and proverbs included also. The second section is 364 pages and is the Samoan to English part. The third section is 158 pages and is the English to Samoan part.
The Dictionary is NEW and still printed by Malua Press (Methodist Church) which is still in business in Samoa.
