These carved works of art are produced from local Samoan hardwoods by very skillful, traditional woodcarvers from the remote Fagaloa Bay Area of Upolu Island which is beautiful area on the main island of Samoa. This is the area of Samoa, in 8 villages, where all the hereditary traditional woodcarving families have lived for centuries since olden times and they are the families who always carved for the Samoan royal families. This area is still considered remote in that there is no telephone service and only a rough 4x4 road going to the villages. These are very finely done pieces at reasonable prices.
There many photos of beautiful carvings
on these Woodcarving pages. I am not able to keep all of these carvings in
stock at all times as I do not have a store and sell only on the internet.
If I do not have a particular carving in stock then, after payment of the
item cost plus shipping/insurance is received, I would order it directly from
the individual carvers. Delivery to me of the carving would take one to two
weeks.
ALSO, because these carvings are all unique and handmade, the carved
design patterns on a carving may not be exactly identical to the photo but
approximately so.
